and then apple tomorrow. for years, tech was the economy's savior. things could be gloomy all over, we'd be this bright light that couldn't be hidden, but tech has not led the way this time around. intel led us off with disappointing results and there's lots of results that could say apple is not as strong as hoped on wednesday. bloomberg even going so far as to suggest profits failed to grow for the first time in ten years. cnbc reports this morning microsoft may be involved in a deal to help take computer maker dell private. not as a buyer per se, but as an investor. microsoft rescued apple from its low point with a big injection of cash and southwest this morning said it will offer last minute line upgrades at the gate to travelers stuck back in the b and c lines. you pay $40 and you're bumped up to business select. right now, you could put yourself near the front of the line with something called early bird. that's $10. it checks you in automatically and gets you that a ticket, but you have to do that ahead of time when you get the ticket. this new system will allow you to upgrade
